CCS TBM TUNNEL PROJECT - ECUADOR
CCS hydro power project is located in the provinces of Napo and Sucumbios in Ecuador. Tunnel project is located downstream from the confluence of the Quijos and Salado rivers. The installed capacity of the plant is 1,500 megawatts. Power station project consists of the first water intake project, tunnel project, the regulation reservoir project and the underground powerhouse project. As an EPC general contract project, the total length of diversion tunnel is 24.83km. Two German Herrenknecht TBMS are used for tunnel construction. The diameter of the TBM cutter: 9.11 meters, the form of left and right ring 6+1 is used for the segment lining, the thickness is 0.3 meters, and the inner diameter of the lining is 8.2 meters.
TBM in the whole excavation construction, created a single month of the excavation record of 1000.8 meters, similar hole diameter TBM excavation third in the world, and obtained the Herrenknecht certification. TBM officially began tunneling on October 18, 2012, and the TBM tunnel was successfully completed on February 4, 2015. The project was officially put into operation on November 18, 2016.
